Why is it that all the best chocolatiers in the world live somewhere other than the USA???
A quick search on the internet claims the following chocolatiers are the World’s Best: Alessio Tessieri, Jacques Torres, La Maison du Chocolate, Max Brenner, Fritz Knipchildt, Noka Choclates, Godiva, DeLafee, Richart Chocolates, Green Mountain Chocolates, or Pascal Caffet.
Until today, I had never heard of any of these chocolates except for the famous Godiva. How sad is it that there are such fabulous chocolates out there that I have never had the pleasure of trying??!! I guess it is time for me to crawl out of my chocolate naiveete.
You may ask yourself…Why is Kristi writing about chocolate? Because I just spent $2 buying the worst chocolate bar in the world from a student who was selling them for a fundraiser, and it is so bad, I can’t even eat it!! I guess with chocolates, you get what you pay for?!
I am not a choco-holic by any means, but if I am craving it (usually once a month), I HAVE to have it!! My personal favorites are Godiva, Dove, and Cadbury. Ghirardelli, See’s and Hershey’s aren’t too bad either. Creamy milk chocolates are my favorite, but I also enjoy truffles!
What other chocolates are out there that are worthy of knowing about??
What are your personal favorites? This is an easy one, kids. Please leave a comment :)

mmm chocolate! I tried some chocolate when we were in Cologne, Germany. The chocolate factory there is the one based for the book Charlie and the Chocolate factory. We took a tour and of course stopped in the gift shop. so back to the piece I tried…I bought a bar of this yummy dark chocolate that had chili powders in it. spicy chocolate! oh yeah baby!

Scharffen-Berger. Their Nibby Bar is the most delicious chocolate bar from an American chocolate maker. I guarantee. And Ghirardelli is my kids’ fave but they lost me when they quit making their Dark Chocolate with Raspberries.

Godiva and Dove are my fave!!! There are many brands I had never even heard of. My favorite are the hand dipped chocolate covered strawberries at Godiva. They are my treat when I go shopping out of town.

See’s and Godiva for me hands down. It is hard to get See’s since they only have a kiosk at Christmas time. So if I need a See’s fix, I order it online :)

Godiva is the best but I really love Lindt’s too. You can find them at Target or the grocery store. I love the truffle bar. It melts in your mouth. Yum!

Ok seriously,
if it is chocolate I will eat it and love it. I have a problem. I like chocolate all the time no matter the day or flavor. HI, I’m Lori. Hi Lori. I’m a chocoholic.
Yummy post. My mouth is watering.

Gotta try the new “Dark Chocolate Snickers”, they may be a limited edition. Its the candy bar you do not wanna share a piece of. Do you remember the “Bar Nones”? I think they stopped making them because the were too rich or lethal…
