How many of you take the time to actual look at and study Missing Person posters???

Would you be able to remember what a missing person looked like and be ale to identify them out in public??

If not, you aren't alone.  I was watching a special report on the local Fox 9 news last night and they did an experiment too see how observant people were in regards to Missing Person posters.

Check out the news video

Scary, huh?  One of these "missing" people could be right under your nose and you might not even be paying enough attention to catch it.  I know I barely pay attention to all the Missing Person photos, etc unless it is Breaking News about an abduction or something.

I know we would all hope and pray that if any of our loved ones were to ever go missing, we would hope people out there are paying attention….

I’ve got to admit… I do read the missing persons fliers but would prob never be able to identify a missing persons unless it is televised on the news… Stacy Peterson for example. I do however, read the Amber Alerts, and I try to memorize the license plate numbers.
On a side note… Kevin’s little cousin has been missing since March. No leads yet… It’s scary, but that’s a long story in itself…

I always make sure to take a good look at the pictures of missing children/people but I have to admit along with Dana that I don’t know if I would recognize them for sure if I saw them.

Oh wow….I am guilty of not looking very well, but what if it was my child? GREAT entry today.

Great topic, Kristi! I try to look whenever I see these.

I saw something similar. I doubt I’d be any better, sometime I wonder if we don’t just filter it all out, thinking there is no way this person is ever going to be found again. So the image doesn’t stick or stand out when the person is there in plain sight.

i worked for the sheriff’s office for five years. i saw so many of these posters it would make your head spin. they were sent to us as part of a program. it is HARD to remember all the faces – i think it is IMPOSSIBLE. however, any local ones i made sure i knew well (local as in from the state).
i can’t imagine what the families of these children go through. i hope to god i never have to experience anything like that.
    great topic!
