I know I am slightly dating myself with this post, but I was a child of the 80's.  What a wonderful decade to grow up! Here is my list of Favorite Movies of the 80's

1.  Karate Kid

2. The Goonies

3. Ghostbusters

4. Sixteen Candles

5. E.T.

6. Indiana Jones

7. Purple Rain (totally inappropriate at age 8 but what can I say? Prince has always been my man)

8. Adventures in Babysitting

9. Willy Wonka

10. Star Wars

ETA at 6:21pm: There are a few more 80's movies I had to add since this morning when I first posted this

11.  Dirty Dancing

12. Stand by Me

13.  Back to the Future

14.  Ferris Bueller's Day Off (How did I forget this??!! It was almost my #1 Fave)

  2. dang it Kristi, after last week, I feel I have to do what you say and post this on my own blog… HOWEVER, I was born in 1981 and don’t feel I’m worthy of a 80′s movie list. Plus, I was 27 before I watched Indiana Jones AND Star Wars….
    I did like E.T. though!

    I didn't even realize Willy Wonka was made in 1971 until I just looked it up! I watched that movie at least 10283618023618236 times during the 80's!
    Coming to America has to be on that list!

  13. After reading your list and all of the comments, I am reminded of my favorites too….Weird Science, Breakfast Club, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (Saw that SOOOO many times when I was a kid), Space Camp, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and what about Teen Wolf?
