I think I have introduced you to my shadow before, Dusty the Russian Blue.
I tried to catch him sleeping but of course he woke up when I started to take the photos. The blue is very pronounced in these pics….. I had my camera set for Tungsten lighting and this is what I got??
f/5.6 1/20 ISO 800 Tungsten
I kept my aperture and shutter speed settings exactly the same but switched the light source to flash mode (but did not use flash) and this is what I got:
What would be a better light source setting to use inside with low lighting when you don't want to use flash??

I am no help to you with your camera questions but those first two pictures of your cat look awesome!!! Love the blue. :)

Your best bet would be to set a custom WB for that situation. You will most likely have to reset it each time, for each situation but that’s the best way to get true colors. And guess what, that’s on the agenda!

When I use daylight ( even inside, I use the lowest f- stop possible to allow maximum light and set the white balance on flash. When artifial light sources are involved I set the white balance manually. I prefer the last picture. The kitty is adorable in each and every one of them!

Thanks Jientje, any tips to get better are appreciated!
Oh, Kristi. He’s beautiful. What a gorgeous baby. It’s cute that you call him your shadow. :) Aren’t they just the best company a girl could ask for? Wish I could be of more photo help. I’m a trial and error shooter myself!
