Do any of you play Fantasy Football at all? Does your significant other?
I have never actually played (especially since I have admitted I enjoy football more for the social aspect) but this year I watched two groups of guys get together to do their Fantasy Football Draft and got to learn which players to watch for this season. The competition throughout the year makes football much more exciting to watch, and I don’t just mean the Vikings! I guess it could also mean that the entire Sunday/Monday is spent watching the NFL…… which is sometimes more than I can take.
What are your thoughts about Fantasy Football? Does it add to the excitement? Does it ruin it for you if you drafted a crappy team?? Do big payoffs at the end motivate you to play or just the competition of it??

I don’t play it, but really want to… I’ve been ready for years.
For me it adds to the entire season – it makes football competitive for me and makes me look at other teams, not just the Vikings. I already spend entire weekends watching the games, so why not get something out of it?

This year will be my 7th year playing fantasy football. I love it and it truly adds more excitement to the season. I was never interested in any other teams besides the Vikings but you will pay attention to other games if you have players on your fantasy team. The payoff is off course nice but I like it for the competition aspect. My winnings: I have won the Super Bowl/Championship game once ($500) and came in 2nd place once ($150). I also play fantasy baseball but it’s not nearly as exciting since the season is so long and there’s a lot of maintenance you need to do to your team during the season. I’m a big fan but I hate it at the same time. It makes games fun to watch but also it consumes my time and attention on Sundays.

This is my first year playing fantasty football and so far I love it!! It is a little time consuming every week, to do the research on which players to start and setting your line up. But, it’s so much fun to be a little competative with a group of friends. I am one of only two girls in our league of 10 and I am ranked 2nd place right now! It’s pretty interesting and I’ve learned a lot. I will definitely be playing again next year.
