Jan 202017

How has your week been? I’m going to be honest…. with the Inauguration of Trump today, I have been feeling an impending sense of doom.  I’ve also been dealing with several personal issues this week that have been bringing me down.  Its been one of those weeks that everything makes me want to cry. Somedays I wish I had the luxury of staying in bed all day.  Not to sleep (well…maybe!) but rather to just let go of all the emotions and sadness inside me.  Instead I get up early every day, put a smile on my face, round up all my positive thoughts and feelings and I push forward.  Its very important for me to focus on the good things and let go of the bad things….. these “Weekly Highlights” are my way of doing that.

With that being said, here is my list of highlights for the week of Jan 13- Jan 19, 2017:

  1. Home cooked meals
  2. Lunch at Smashburger
  3. Road trip to Spring Lake on the Mississippi
  4. Schaar’s Bluff
  5. Spring Lake Islands Wildlife Management Area
  6. Rock Island Swing Bridge Pier
  7. Getting to check out the Ice Castles in Stillwater (before the big melt)
  8. Being rescued by a good samaritan after getting stuck in the snow down a lonely dirt road
  9. Impromptu visit from Bradie
  10. Updating my blog
  11. Seeking advice and thinking about a plan to help my son
  12. Feeling good physically (sickness still hasn’t touched me!)
  13. Finding new books suggestions (my ever-growing list!)
  14. Helping others get healthy
  15. Warmer weather

  1. Good list. I could only come up with 5 for my blog today but I guess that is better than nothing.

  2. Great post! It really is good to think on the positive. I’m with you on feeling a sense of doom today. It doesn’t help that I’m feeling sick too, so I couldn’t leave the house and enjoy the nice weather, etc. Sigh.

  3. Hey girl,

I hope this week is better than the last. You have some great ethics, knowing that it’s just best to put the negative thoughts behind you and carry on and persevere. I love that attitude. Some days I wish I could stay in bed all day, too. Some days it’s just all too much facing the world, but like you say, onwards and upwards.

Seeing the ice castles sounds fun! Hopefully they hadn’t melted much by the time you got around to seeing them.

I hope you have a great week hun. xoxox
