My niece, Annika Leigh!
I can hardly believe how fast the time went! Some of you may remember how excited I was on the day she was born because that is the day I became an Auntie. My SIL Michelle also details an account of Annika's birth on her blog today.
Every year I have made a collage for Annika, celebrating the past year of her life. First year, second year, and now her third year……
Brian and Michelle had a party for Annika at their house yesterday and the girls had a great time and enjoyed their new gifts. (It is Bianca's half-birthday today, they are exactly 18 months apart)

Its my brother Jeff’s birthday today! In his honor, I thought I’d share some old pictures and maybe tell you about Jeff when he was a kid.
It was a happy day when baby Jeffrey Robert was born May 18, 1981. I had just turned 4, and Brian had just turned two.
Jeff was the cutest little kid! He had the curliest blonde hair that stopped strangers in their tracks. (Thats Jeff in the lower left corner, Then Brian, then my aunt Patti and cousin Michael and then me)
My brothers and I were Karate Kids. Karate Kid was one of the 12 movies we saw over and over as kids.

As cute as these friendly family photos are, don’t let us fool you. Brian and I picked on Jeff at just about every opportunity we could get. Man, it would’ve sucked to be the baby in the family! Jeff got so much crap, I am not even kidding! Hopefully he doesn’t hold too much resentment for the sibling torture we put him through.
I could tell you many funny stories about Jeff, but he probably has just as many stories about me. So I definitely won’t tell you about the time his World Series Hat fell in the toilet. Or about the songs Brian and I made up and sang to him.
I could make this post really super long listing all of Jeff’s accomplishments, but I think today I will just say…..

Went out on Friday night to Dave & Buster’s to celebrate my friend Heather’s bday (aka Heather Cheddar). Heather has given me at least 1,011 silly nicknames (the current being Kritti Krack Korn), so I had to give her a silly one back….. Cheddar Cheesey Corn
Dave & Buster’s is cool…..as long as you like arcade games (I DON’T) and are willing to spend $5 per game…(hell NO, I don’t). The food was decent though…I will write up a review when I can get to it :)
Note to self: do NOT trust stupid Google directions if you want to actually find what you’re looking for. Following directions in an unfamiliar place might lead you to driving around LOST for 30 minutes. Boo!
I know my dad doesn’t read my blog, but I wanted to give him a special "shout-out" anyway….he turns the big 6-0 today!!!! It is also his sister’s 61st bday and his brother’s 62nd bday. They were all born naturally and they were all born on their due dates (12-30-45, 12-30-46, 12-30-47), within two hours birth time of each other. Isn’t that cool and unique? The odds are like 1 billion to 1of that happening in one family. (I made up those odds, but seriously!) They made national news back in the day when my dad was born!
Every year we have an Annual Family Foosball Tournament in honor of the special birthdays. Heading there later this afternoon!

Wanted to say Happy 21st (+10) to my crazy friend Jessie who celebrates her birthday tomorrow. Jessie isn’t really crazy, but she sure is funny! Some long-standing nicknames I have for her are Eggnog (Bradie’s dad actually started this one shortly before he passed away in 1990) and Oster-seester (don’t ask how we came up with that one!?)
Our friend Andrea invited a bunch of us out to dinner at Granite City last night to celebrate Jessie’s birthday with her.
Here is me, Kara and Jessie. Did you know that Jessie is married to Kara’s brother? She is super excited to become an aunt to Kara and Jesse’s baby girl when she arrives in about two months!
I also made sure to get a pic of Bradie and I since we didn’t take any a few weeks ago when we were together. I first met Jessie through Bradie back in 4th or 5th grade!

I went boating on Bald Eagle Lake Sunday afternoon with my neighbors and their in-laws. It was a very hot, sunny afternoon and a great day for boating (very little breeze). Pretty much the only way to cool off is to jump in the lake (which is about 85′). Would you believe that for the first time in YEARS I actually got into the lake??? Like the middle of the 1000 acre lake! I hate swimming in lakes for a million reasons, but I did it and it wasn’t too bad! We had little floating chairs (made from a foam noodle and netting) so I was able to keep my feet up while floating. I am such a baby that I used a tow-rope to keep me from floating too far from the boat. Here are us girls!
So it’s Monday again….. just four weeks from today I will be going back to work :)
Today is also my friend Toni’s Golden Birthday!!!!!!! Happy Birthday Tone!

Its hard to believe that this year marks #49 for you. Wow. Its been about 22 years now since my auntie first introduced me to your music. Imagine me as a little 2nd grader, dancin’ around to the entire Purple Rain album. I knew then that I would be hopelessly devoted to your musical career. I have faithfully bought and enjoyed all your albums, unlike some of the others who have only enjoyed your pop hits. Evolution is good and I know you’re still playing what is in your heart and soul :)
I have enjoyed the countless number of times I have seen you perform live, and the Celebration at Paisley Park (2000& 2001). I know you are used to seeing me within the first 5 rows from the stage (I love the few times that you have smiled directly at me) and I will be there again one month from today on 07/07/07 when you come back to Mpls. (although I won’t be sitting quite so close this time). Can’t wait to see you! It would be fun to come out to London this summer to see you there too…I will work on that. I actually have a passport now, I just need to work on securing the funds.
Another thing I need to tell you is that although we have not yet been formally introduced, I dream of the occasion quite often. Like just the other night I dreamt that we were hanging out before your next big show. I have had these dreams at least 20 times in the past several years….I only hope that some day my dreams will become a reality :)
